This Code of Interoperability (CoIn) applies to any service provider (relying party) wishing to utilise GOV.UK Verify as part of online service delivery in a private beta, public beta or live environment.
It describes the controls that organisations must implement and the responsibilities they must undertake to access GOV.UK Verify, and the responsibilities of Government Digital Service (GDS) in relation the GOV.UK Verify service.
Service managers and senior responsible officers for a relying party wishing to consume GOV.UK Verify identity services should read this document thoroughly and use it as a reference point for the responsibilities of both the relying party and GDS.
